If you don’t know this inked up Queen of the tattoo industry by now then get ready to be inspired. Not only is the LA Ink star one of the most famous tattoo artists in the world, having inked up celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Demi Lovato, Denise Richards, Ewan McGregor, Deadmau5, Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Jared Leto, Steve-O, Zayn Malik and Dave Grohl to name a few, she is also speaking out about what matters most to her.
Kat boldly speaks out against societal norms in her fight for human rights, female liberation and conscious living. Her latest endeavor into the world of beauty has led to the creation of her own cruelty-free makeup range. One of the most popular products in the collection has become one of the most controversial as well. Kat’s ‘Underage Red’ lipstick has caused a stir amongst critics who claim her makeup has a more sinister undertone. Kat spoke out about this topic in a response letter to those who questioned her creative decision, saying:
“Anyone who knows or follows me, is very aware of my personal lifestyle choices which include celibacy, sobriety, conscious living and [above feminism], human rights. Although, I would never force my views and opinions onto others, I most definitely find it offensive being accused of the opposite.
These wild, and horrific accusations proclaiming that any aspect of my makeup line would ever promote the degradation of women, statutory rape, sexual behavior, human trafficking, underage drinking, or even idealization of fleeting youth, goes against everything I stand for. So, please excuse me if I find those articles and comments appalling and inaccurate.”
This was not the only time that Kat took on critics head first. After a topical and heartfelt post about Cecil the Lion on her Instagram she deconstructed the underlying hypocrisy of a society who eats meat or animal products.
“It’s hard for me to empathize with those who are upset about the recent killing of an innocent lion, yet choose to eat animals. The difference between Cecil the lion, and all the animals killed for meat: NONE. The only difference between what Dr. Walter Palmer did to an animal, and how an animal dies in order to serve those who consciously choose to eat meat: NONE.
Regardless of all the lies out country’s FDA, medical industry and media force upon us – it is our responsibility to seek out the truth for ourselves, and make life changes individually. Don’t tell me “I can’t live without my steak.” Don’t tell me “It’s hard because of [insert excuse here].” Don’t tell me “It’s good for your health” when Science has proven the opposite. Don’t lie to yourself that there is a “human” way of killing a living being.”
The criticism this post received by her following on social media was so immense she went on to post a response video on her YouTube channel.
As long as Kat and like-minded, determined people continue to speak out and inform the masses about what is truly going on, there is some hope for humanity!
